Fresh Hotel Description
The property (which used to be the Athens Centre Hotel) is a modern 1960's block, in line with many of Athen's hotels. It has recently undergone a major facelift and now features a clean contemporary style. It can suit every traveller's budget. The lobby is bright and well appointed. Customers can relax in the lounge, situated on the ground floor. Guest rooms are decorated in lots of white and pastel colours and feature modern, comfortable furniture. The bathrooms are in good condition. Customers can enjoy a meal at the refurbished restaurant or a drink at the bar, while enjoying a view of the Acropolis. A big selling point for the hotel is it's roof top pool and terrace that provides some great views across Athens, as well as somewhere to enjoy the sunshine. It is a good modern property enjoying a very central location.

Comment
The standard rooms are small, and not appropriate for more than a 1/2 night stay.
The 'Air' bar is a great experience.
The location is good and bad. The hotel is a 10 min. walk only from the Plaka area, main shops, and good restaurants/bars,yet it is close to the markets and a relatively rough district.
Top Tip
The Old Gramaphone retaurant is close by, with traditional food and music.
The Benaki museum is well worth a visit, inc. lunch/cffee in their cafe.

I really wouldn't worry about the area - yes its a working area but never once felt threatened.
Top Tip
Use the metro system to get around - cheap and ultra clean.

Excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Location is ideal for any areas of athens due to locality of the Metro especially close to the acropolis for those culture vultures. Well reccomended by all our party.
Top Tip
Everyone who goes to athens knows about the acropolis complex and the parthenon but if you like that sort of thing the temple of the winds and hadrians library along with the roman forum are in many ways superior to the acropolis just because you can get alot closer and touch things and are not coralled like sheep as you are at the parthenon and the acropolis complex. Any restaurants in the area of Monastiraki will be worth a visit, we've been three times, for a week each time, and never been to the same one twice and each one has been brilliant in its own way!
